I'm running the latest Plex server on a Synology 1512+ with the latest build of DSM 6.
In trying to use the 'Optimize' functionality to transcode versions of my shows, it always goes to the end then fails. I enabled debug logging and looked at the logs and it looks like everything works well until the transcode is complete, at which Plex tries to rename the temp file that it had been transcoding and fails with a permissions error.
Plex does have read/write permissions to the share it's trying to write to, and it succeeds in creating a whole lot of files as well as appending to the temp file while it transcodes. It's only at the end when it tries to rename (and cleanup a couple of other temp files) that it fails. I've even been able to grab that completed "temp" file and play it just fine with a media player.
The question is, how do I get it to work if read/write permissions in DSM are seemingly insufficient?
