UNABLE TO CREATE AND SUCCESSFULLY CLAIM A PLEX SERVER.
Hello all,
I'm attempting to create a fresh install of Plex after an issue with a HD.
After installing the Plex software on DSM, I attempt to go through the steps to create the initial server, the first issue then occurs "unable to save these settings". If I navigate away from this page and open a new Plex web URL, the server has been created. I then attempt to claim the newly created server, which initially is successful but will then drop out after a few minutes of being active or if I navigate away from the page. The server is then completely unaccessible until I then have to reinstall and start the process again.
I have installed and uninstalled multiple times, adjusting different settings in both the web app and the server settings (when I have access to it) with no luck. I have attached my logs from my most recent install and my details are below.
Any ideas would be really appreciated.

Plex Synology creates two libraries on its own??
Hello all, i am trying to set up a new pms, i have moved my movie library from an older nas to a new one. Bought the Synology ds916+.
Moved all the movie files over to the new NAS and installed pms on my new nas.
When i started to build new libraries on my nas, it creates two of every library. For no reason ?
Do you know why this happens, and if i can fix it?
I am following the naming conventions.

Why are Extras showing as movies?
I am using this: If you have multiple versions of the movie together, use the "Organized in Subdirectories" method below.
Pretty useless feature if extras stil show up as individual movies.

Hi,
I've one synolgy DS216+ with plex server up to date but I don't have the server's setting on the web !
The server is necessarily inaccessible, how to restore normal operation ?

Can't stream to TV anymore since purchase of plex pass
I know this sounds weird, but maybe you can help me anyway:
I run the most recent Plex version (1.5.3.3580-4b377d295) available for my Synology NAS with DSM 6.1.1-15101 Update 2. This week, I purchased a Plex pass and I think since then, I'm not able to stream TV series to my TV anymore. When I hit play, the TV app enters full-screen and display the navigation controls in the bottom half of the screen but the screen itself remains blank. So I thought, I give the "optimize" feature a try. TV shows I've added before purchasing the pass are being optimized correctly. All recent episodes added after the purchase can't be optimized and I get the error "Invalid Metadata" (as attached): 
In the main menu, I already tried Libraries > Clean Bundles, Empty Trash and Optimize Database. I already restarted my NAS and Plex server application.
What I think is strange is the fact that "old" episodes are displayed and streamed correctly. So I created a new TV shows library and pointed the library-directory directly to one show's folder. Now trying to stream from that new library with old episodes, none can be played. But the same episodes can be streamed in from the other library where they have been imported before I purchased the pass.
The file-endings are either .mp4 or .mkv, both don't work anymore. The files are organized flat as /[Show Name]/Show.S12E20...mp4 or /[Show Name]/Show.S12E21...mkv (however, as said, previously that wasn't an issue as covers, seasons and episodes are displayed correctly).
Could you please help me resolve this issue? I assume you eagerly await some log-files. Which ones should I upload and where do I get them from? Could it be an issue with Agents?
For the new library, I picked "TheTVDB" and in Settings > Server > Agents > Shows > TheTVDB I ticked "TheTVDB", "Plex Theme Music" and "The Movie Database".

Plex Media Scanner really sloooooooow on library over 2,000 folders
The scanner has ground to an absolute snail pace on my movie library. Have read elsewhere that it simply doesn't do well on libraries over 2,000 (or thereabouts) folders. I did split my folder again into subfolders (would prefer not to) and it is back to running fast again. Has this issue still not been addressed, or is it simply a bridge too far?

Can't Find Movie Library
Hi there. I have two issues.
1) Randomly, my Synology seems to change its IP address and Plex goes down. Once I update the new IP, things are back to normal.
2) the above happened last week and now although i have updated the IP and can get to Plex, my movie folder is gone from my Library and when i try to add back, I keep getting an error. It wont let me browse for it and just shows me Google Drive. (also weird) I tried adding ipaddress/video but that isnt working either.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

DS 916+ Issues
My Plex media server is on my NAS. Whenever I try to play content off my Apple TV locally, it attempts to transcode it instead of direct play. Direct play using the Plex app on my Mac works just fine. The Diskstation is running DSM 6.1.1-15101 Update 2. Has anyone else noticed that Plex runs noticeably worse on this version of DSM?

No thumbnails on few folders
Hello everybody!
New to Plex installed on my Syno DS 215+, I set libraries, one music, one home video and two photos.
I have troubles with one of the photo library. On Plex server, there are 4 folders (total of 16) that don't have a thumbnail picture. Inside these folders, there are other folders with pictures in it, none have thumbnails and the pictures don't have one too. The same happens on my TV unfortunately.
Is it a known bug? The other folders are working without a problem... I tried to refresh and analyse the libraries, doesn't work. I tried to select the folders and then click analyse on the left bar, that doesn't seem to do anything.
For information, I run 0.9.15.2 server and 2.5.2 web.

Is Synology DSM 6.1-15047 Not Compatible with PLEX???
I was in process to update DSM 6.1-15047 from DSM 6.0.2-8451 Update 9 and after I hit update there is an error message that Plex is not compatible with the system update and will be disabled after the update. Has anyone else gone through the update? Are you able to manually restart Plex? Was it successful?
I am a bit nervous to apply this update after issues in November with the beta version.

Resetting my Server
The IP address of my SynologyDS NAS has changed and ever since, Plex on Apple TV or even if I go to http://<SynologyDS>:32400 no longer work. Both the Plex app on Apple TV and when I go to http://<SynologyDS>:32400 they show that they are unable to find the server.
I have deleted the existing server, but I no longer have a "server" tab to add and configure a new server. I am completely stuck and unsure how to address the issue. I have googled my way through seeking solutions but nothing so far.
Even though I'm a Pass for Life customer, there seems to be no support that I can reach neither via phone, email. or web. Please help.

DS916+ PMS missing codec issue with AC3
Hi All,
after a recent upgrade of DSM to Version 6.1.1-15101 Update 2 and PMS Version 1.5.6.3790 I cannot seem to play media files with AC3 Audio (most of my library!)
It's been a painful couple of weeks and I have even done a clean install of Plex to rebuild the database and get new codecs, but has not done anything to resolve it.
Funny thing is I have an instance of Plex player installed on my Surface, Version 3.2.20-25990c77, and this can play everything without issues.
Is anyone else facing this, or has anyone faced and resolved this?

How to add personal Domain SSL Certificate to Plex on Synology ?
I cant access Plex over WAN, I have my Synology to force HTTPS, I have My valid certificate and I have it setup on my Synology, everything works except Plex, I notice that in the settings Server>>Networks It lets me add the path for the certificate but cant seem to do it right, can someone help me on this ? Can someone teach me how to properly do it ? I use Plex for all my media so its important the security when Plex is on my custom Synology where all my personal files are(What can I say Im a security freak). Thanks in advanced.

Synology DS216+II, will it work?
Hi,
I'm looking to upgrade my current NAS (ReadyNAS 2 Ultra Plus) to a DS216+II.
Plex Media Server is running fine for my needs on the ReadyNAS (streaming to Apple TV/iPad).
But after reading a bit, I'm getting a tad confused about wether or not I will have at least an equal or better experience on the DS216+II.
If there's anyone here who could shine a little light on my concerns regarding Plex Media Server and the DS216+II.

Enforced SRT files are not removed from Optimized version folders
When using a queue of optimized versions, old items are automatically removed. However, I found that if the optimized version folders contains enforced srt files, they are not removed.
