Shows that are correctly named and receive full meta data are linking with incorrect subtitles. I checked the sub titles at subtitles .org and they are correct. The subtitles Plex links are different and for some other TV program all together.
The Plex naming convention is exactly as specified in the Plex naming guide. the air date is also correct. Episode 1 follows episode two an so on.

Plex can't see some mp4 files, but can play them if opened via another app
I've recently added some downloaded TV shows in mp4 format (the same format to which I have converted other DVD films, and recorded TV shows and films using Handbrake).
Yesterday, when I opened the files on my Android phone in ES File Explorer, and clicked them, I was asked for a media player to use. I selected Plex, and it played the files and would cast them via Plex to my TV using Chromecast.
Today, after upgrading the DSM on my NAS 214Play to DSM 6.1.3-15152 Update 3 the only option I now see in ES File Explorer is to play direct to Chromecast.
When I use Plex directly (both before and after the DSM update today) to browse the /Volume/video folder on my Synology DS214Play, it can see all the OTHER mp4 files, but not these - they don't show up.
They seem to have the same owner (me) and privileges (Read/Write) as all the other files in the video folder. They were downloaded as mp4 files, not transcoded.
They are in a relatively low resolution (480p) and file sizes are under 500MB. Would that prevent them showing? If not, what else might?
And what if anything could I try to have the files show up in the Plex browser on my phone?

Plex server pass v. 1814139 and transcoding synology 716+

I would like to know if with a nas synology 716+ and plexpass subscription with the latest version of the media server can i transcodify 1080p h264 files 28--32mb / s or do I have to rely on another model?
Example of my use, transcoding high bitrate (30mb / s) files to smartv files remotely 4 mb / s 720p (single stream). Can he do it?

Plex won't start with dsm 6.1.3.15015 update 3
So applied the latest update for synology ds1815+ and now I get an error saying plex failed to start the package service. Anyone else applied the latest dsm update?

Installed the newest but it shows a strange "neweset version??"

It sucks and hangs at "searching for server"..

Plex Media Server: Playback Stops after a few Seconds
Hi All -
I have a Synology DS216+II NAS running PMS v. 1.7.5.4035 with a 150/150 internet connection. Here's the issue:
When playing films via browser in and out of my home video playback stops and returns to the film home screen after about 30 seconds or so. This is a relatively recent issue; prior to this films playback without quitting.
How can I fix this? This is EXTREMELY annoying. Any and all advice would be appreciated.

Synology NAS shows no Plex Media Server after installing it via Package Center
On my Synology NAS DS216j I have installed from the Package Center the Plex Server. Then clicked open. It opens a seperate browser windows but it remains empty. No option to confire Plex Server.

Very high disk and volume usage (no transcoding) on Synology DS3617xs

I am experiencing very high volume utilisation on my RAID when using the Plex on my Synology DS3617xs. The problem comes and goes and is somewhat erratic. This has nothing to do with transcoding as this is happening while the server is not playing anything and this is not CPU related - only storage related.
Usually when starting fresh all is fine but then gradually Plex increase the load on both the disks and the RAID volume. It can also happen very suddenly.
I have also noticed that the EPG update is taking tremendous amount of disk resources when it is updating - in fact so much I decided to turn of the whole DVR functionality in whole for now.
Any suggestions? Thanks

Synology DS916+ and Plex Media Server
Hello,
I've been researching for a while but can't find a satisfying answer, I hope some of you can help me find it.
Since my Netgear ReadyNAS Ultra 2 is no longer supported (and I've been thinking about purchasing a new NAS for a while) I'm thinking about purchasing the Synology DS916+ with Intel Pentium N3710 CPU (same as the WD PR-4100).
As far as I could find on this community, the WD PR-1400 is supported by Plex for Hardware Transcoding.
Will this also be the case for the Synology DS916+, since it has the same CPU?
I will be streaming 1080p (and in the future 4K) MKVs to my Samsung TV in the living room, mostly all of it will be Direct Play (so no transcoding needed).
Every once in a while I will be streaming to my Samsung TV in the bedroom, this will be transcoding 1080p to a Google Chromecast (new version).
Transcoding to an iPad Air 2 may also be a option in the future.
Will the DS916+ be up to those tasks with Plex Media Server and will Plex support the (built-in) Hardware Transcoding of this NAS?

Synology DS413 - Plex package
I have a DS413 and just noticed that Plex package is no longer available for download.
After quite a bit of reading the suggestion was to install the following old version.
PlexMediaServer-0.9.16.6.1993-5089475-ppc_qoriq.spk
Looked on google but could not find it any where.
Can somebody please PM me a link to the package?

Dashboard not loading when accessed from within network
Since a couple of days now. I have issues with the dashboard not loading and giving errors.
Plex media server runs on my NAS, if i access Plex from within the network, either through, phone app, chrome broweser, LG TV or samsung DVR, the dashboard does not load and gives an error.
When accessing my server from outside my network from my work pc, also through chrome there are no issues.
Also plex seems unusually slow.

Wifi trouble
Hello all, i am having a problem connecting to my Plex Media Server at home via my wifi.
I have access to it remotely, but at home i am getting very frustrating responses from my PMS.
It tells me it cant reach the file i am trying to open. and this just occurs when i use wifi. SO the problem must lie either with my router, or some setting on my pms.
So strange that it works remotely, but not localy?? and just wifi, if i use ehternet cable, it works perfectly.

Plex Media Server won't start on my Synology NAS
Plex worked previously and upgraded my NAS. Plex worked fine under the old OS Version. Cannot get it to start. Keep getting a ERR_CONNECTION and cannot find page.
Opened all ports on Firewall and opened Port 32400 BOTH on my router. Did the same for other APPS and all work except for PMS.
Noticed there is no Plex Share after upgrading however.
Been all over researching this and trying to logon via localhost or by IP but no avail.

Plex prevents DS213j from sleep mode
As stated in the title, since I installed Plex 1.7.5.4035 on my DS213j (DSM 6.1) , my DS does not go into sleep mode anymore.
Library update was set to "never".
I also checked https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/67635/plex-prevents-ds212-from-sleep-mode/
which suggests that some directories might be missing. I checked the logs, the only missing dir was
/volume1/Plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Cache/Transcode/Sync+
Also, this appeared just once a day, and I do not want to mess with the cache folder ...
Any suggestions? It would be good to know if this is a know problem. If its a known problem and no solution exists, that would also be good to know. Maybe setting up plex on a different server and just having the media on the diskstation would help? However, this would require purchasing additional hardware, so I would rather fix things on the diskstation.

DS216+II with Direct Stream mode, slight audio delay
Model : DS 216+II
DSM Version : DSM 6.1.3-15152 Update 3
RAM : 4GB
PMS : Plex 1.8.1.4140
Problem :
With Direct Stream mode, sometimes I have slight audio delay, if I jump forward/backward the movie.
The movie itself 1080p h.264 AAC, around 2GB file size. Is there anyone have problem like me?
I use subtitle (not english native speaker), that's why can't do Direct Play.
Or is it normal for Celeron N3060?

no stored username at webgui login
hi guys
I hope I am in the correct category, if not, please move it to the right one.
since a longer time, I have a problem with the login with the media server webgui. no matter if I use IE, Edge or FF (always cleaned history), I can only save the password at the loginpage, the username wont be saved. so I have to enter the username every time I want login. in older mediaserver versions it worked. had somebody the same problem and found a solution or is that a bug?
I use a Synology DS1813+ with the last OS 6.1
