I recently ordered a DS418play. I would like to use it as a Plex server, replacing an aging PC which is now doing that. I, possibly mistakenly, assumed that the DS418play could function as a Plex server. Am I wrong? Can I install Plex server on it?

Server Versions Issue with Synology
I have a Synology NAS DS413 running Freescale QorIQ P1022 CPU. After the previous DSM upgrade, Plex no longer worked and I found a thread that allowed me to download a compatible version and run that so I still can use Plex. Problem is that I now have a PS4 and am trying to use Plex on it. It won't connect to the media server, keeps telling me I need to update the media server to the latest version, which I obviously cannot because it won't work on my NAS. Is there a solution to this? Version of Plex media server that is compatible with both my NAS and PS4??

After new version uplift "There was an unexpected error loading libraries"
I believe the latest plex update, or some other update on my NAS may be responsible for this
So far to attempt to fix this (see below screenshot)
- Deleted the db file to force it to recreate, the database. When I added the library to scan, it gave me this error after a short period of time
- Removed entirely the plex install, deleted the Plex folder, and all other traces on my Synology (as per the FAQ page)
- Added the TV library again, same issue
I don't know what else I can do, this is driving me crazy.

Cant see Plex Media Server on my local network
Hi. I starting using IPVanish and then couldn't access my PMS. I disconnected the VPN - no joy. I rebooted my router and modem and NAS and no joy. I uninstalled PMS and reinstalled and rebooted everything, no joy. I deleted the Server on Plex and rebooted everything, no joy. It shows it is running on the NAS but I can't see it on the local network. From the app on my iPAD it shows as offline. I have no idea what to do and am far from technical. Any ideas? I can't figure out where to start.

Why doesn't plex find my server?
I have a brandnew Synology DS918+ and installed Plex. Package center shows Plex well playing, but when I try to login on an internetbrowser (tried Edge and Firefox), plex doesn't find my server. What is going wrong?

Is Plex no longer usable on DS212J?
Just very recently plex hasn't been loading up to find my diskstation via my roku 3 app. I went to my DSM on my windows laptop and it appears as i'm now seeing that plex is no longer supported on this diskstation? I can't seem to clearly find out if there is some downgrade workaround to get it to work? I'm not at all planning to upgrade my diskstation and would very much like to do whatever is necessary to get plex streaming back working, as my other streaming app for the diskstation doesn't always recognize the same files plex does and vice versa, so i really like having both. Hope this isn't an oft asked question but i couldn't clearly understand if there is a solution or not. Thanks for any help!

Subtitle delay
Hello,
I use DMS 6 with a powerful server, with Plex, MKV movies and series who include subtitle.
Sometime on Safari or Chrome, I have a subtitle issue: The sub are delayed, or doesn't work well...
When I m watching the series or movies with VLC, there is no problem, only when Plex transcode the files and watch them with web players.
Any idea where the problem come from?

PlexPy or Stat system for PMS on Syno?
Hi,
I m trying since 1 week to setup PlexPy on my Nas Syno.
I use the 5.2 DSM vesrion on my Syno.
I can t find a good tuto to know how to install and run Plexpy.
I Install python, and docker, download and run PlexPy from docker, setup the port on my routeur. But nothing happen, When I try to go on plexpy by Safari http://192.168.1.132:8282 , nothing appear.
Someone could help me ? or maybe give me another solution to see the Plex Stat?

2 x Syno + 2x PLEX + 2x PleyPy
Hi,
I m using home 2 server syno, with Plex on both.
One is for Movies, One is for Series.
I have 2 Plexpass accounts, and I installed plexpy on both. I did exactly the same stuff for the installation.
The problem is PlexPy work only on my movies server.
On the Series Server plexPy is working but there is no stat coming. I can only see the series streamed but not the stat.
I setup each server with a different Plexpass account.
Is there maybe a conflict using 2 Plexpass account? on the same network?

Secure connection
Hi!
I have a Synology NAS reached remotely with a private ddns (from Synology).
To connect securely I have got a certificate from Letsencrypt - working just fine when I connect to the adminstrative page with https://..............:5001 (Synology´s 443). But using https for Plex (32400) is impossible. One of three things will happen: 1. The remote computer I am sitting at does not find my NAS, but offers me to connect insecurely once or always, 2. the computer poses a warning (insecure, not private) connection - continue anyway? or 3. just skips the s in https and connects.
The other way of connecting is through https://plex.tv - working fine until I would like to launch my account and connect to my NAS - goes over to http and connects. I suppose the only way plex.tv will find me is through my own ddns address giving a mismatch in comparing plex DigiCert with my Letsencrypt - no secure connection.
I have even downloaded a plex.cert for my Synology - no difference, does not connect securely. I have also in Network put how to find my certificate (pfx) in Synology, given my private key and put my personal ddns. No difference, does not connect securely.
Any suggeations? Or skip the https-thinking and buy a VPN-connection instead?

[Bug] Stuttering Playblack with movies encoded with M4VGear
Hey,
when I buy a iTunes movie and convert it with M4VGear (Windows) the Playback on iOS, tvOS and the Webplayer is stuttering.
On tvOS it where it runs best. Every 3 to 10 Minutes is a very small interrupt (around 0.5 to 1 sec). On iOS and the Webplayer is much more frequent.
If I copy the same movie to iTunes and play it on the AppleTV with the "Computer" app it's absolutely stutter free.
If I convert the movie with M4VGear (MacOS) it's also with Plex stutter free. But converting a movie with MacOS M4VGear is a bad idea... because it takes hours instead of minutes like on Windows and even more worse: there is a visible quality loose in the picture quality (but the same file size).
All streams are direct plays
I think the issue is caused the Plex Server, after the issue appears only when I play the movie via Plex.
Setup:
Plex Server 1.9.2.4285 (@Synology DS415play)
Apple TV 4k with tvOS 11.0 (Plex App 1.17.1 )
iMac 5k with macOS 11.13
Windows 7 via Parallels Desktop running M4VGear 5.3.4

Do I need any plex package / plugin / software on my synology to allow it to work with PMS on my mac
Hi I recently deleted a tmz plex package from my Synology 176+ but I notice everything still works. I can still access all the files on my NAS without any Plex plugins or apps on the synology NAS. I run PMS on a MacBook pro which still accessed all the files i the NAS fine and it does not seem to have affected anything deleting the plex package fro my NAS. so do I actually need any plex downloads on the synology to make it work with PMS on the MAC? thanks!

Can't access to my Plex Media Server

I'm a fresh user of Plex on NAS Synology (DSM 216j - version 6.1.3-15152 Update 6). I installed last version of PMS (v1.9.2.4285-9f65b88ae) :
PMS is started well (Service [pkgctl-Plex Media Server] status=[enable] required upstart job: [pkgctl-Plex Media Server] is start) but doesn't appear in Plex web interface at http://192.168.0.27:32400/web/index.html. I have to connect to my Plex account but the Plex Server isn't here. Joined to this post my logs and here ERROR and WARN I have :

Plex Supported USB tuners for Plex DVR attached to Synology DS
Hi, i have a DS916+ and am looking at getting TV/DVR through plex.
Rather than purchasing a HD Homerun device and having this separate, is there any working examples of the USB Tuners that are on plex's supported list working when attached directly to the USB ports on the Synology?

Two synology servers on the network - remote access not working
I have two synology servers on my network, both have plex media server installed - the latest version.
Unfortunately the remote access works only for one of them, I tried to use a different external port fo the other one, and made the forwarding in the cisco router, but it does not work.
Any suggestions?
