can't connect any more
I have been using PLEX MS for more than a year. Installed on a Synology NAS. Without problems I must say.
Yesterday I installed a secondary NAS at a remote location. I tried to install and access the server, without success. Ever since I can access my main server - I tried all possible combinations of Preferences.xml without any result. I keep getting stuck in the web app at "Looking for servers.." at both Synology NAS networks, locally and remotely - providing the same result.

Lost and Frustrated, Can't Find Plex Server on Synology NAS
Been reading the forums here and trying things for the last few hours. I've even gone as far as wiping my NAS and starting over. No matter what I do I keep getting stuck on the "Looking for Servers..." screen.
Would someone be willing to help? I've tried many of the things on the FAQ that has been shared here including wiping out the XML file. I think it may be a network setting since I can only connect via IP address on my Mac. Because when I try to access http://[servername].local:32400/ I get a 401 Unauthorized error.
Thoughts?

Sharing Different users libraries
Hi All!
Please I really need help! I have a friend, he has his own Plex server and I do have mine, we want that our friend see all folders... how we could do it? He has his friends by friendship in his Plex, and I have mine... what we want is let them seen all the folders, without have to give them friendship in my fiend's plex or my Plex... Is there any option to sync both Plex to have the same contents in both or them? Or another way to do it? Sorry for my English I tried my best to explain myself...

Synology DSM 6.1 with Plex and PlexPy (and Community Python 2.7.13)

as for now, sounds like I should not upgrade DSM to the major new version 6.1, too severe changes in DSM to be a guinea pig and avoiding hassle. "Never touch a running system" so to speak 
Also in the DSM 6.1 readme:
"Due to infrastructure update, packages will need re-initialization after upgrading to DSM 6.1. The process will occupy a higher CPU usage and can take up to an hour depending on the number of packages installed."
What does this mean for a big Plex library?
Anyone wants to share their thoughts or even experience with DSM 6.1 using Plex, PlexPy & Comm. pythton 2.7 (needed by PlexPy). Any Feedbacks well appreciated!

How to authorize Plex server on Synology NAS
Hi all, I'm playing with synology (using xpenology on re-purposed pc) and have successfully installed Plex. The problem is the server doesn't appear. On the web app xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:32400 it allows me to sign in using my plex account credentials and shows me all the users in my account. I can sign in with those users but there are no plex servers showing.
On my iphone app I can see the plex server but it is unathorized. I remember having to authorize my original plex server (different PC, different IP and currently turned off) but I can't work out how to authorize this one.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

1.5.3 just brought my 1815+ to a screaming halt
Normally an update takes a couple seconds, after waiting 15 minutes and not having any SSH or web access responding, I resorted to requesting a shutdown via the power button .. another 10 minutes later I realized it was not going to shut down clean and had to ... turn it off. Not cool. 
Upon reboot, Plex is hard stopped and the log is full of:
WARN - Warning: ex: boost::filesystem::last_write_time: No such file or directory: "/volume1/@appstore/Plex Media Server/Resources/Plug-ins-029f6ffbf", couldn't check file: /volume1/@appstore/Plex Media Server/Resources/Plug-ins-029f6ffbf
Of course, Syno will let you view the log, but not copy/paste the text, what the heck? So I had to type that by hand.
Some remanent of a really crappy plugin I once had? Or a bad update? As far as I'm aware, I do not have any active plug-ins.
Edit: DSM is 6.0, I haven't done the push to 6.1 yet.

Keeps looking for server
Hi,
First of all thanks for reading my post en maybe helping me.
I have a Synology DS411+II which should be powerfull enough to stream SD. I just want to try if this is something I can use.
I've downloaded PlexMediaServer-0.9.16.3.1840-cece46d-x86.SPK and installed it manually on my Synology. This was going fine. Now I've opened the url (the_ipaddress:32400/web) and it keeps hanging on the left site with the following message:
Looking for servers
A server could not be found.
Download and install Plex Media Server,
and it will appear here.
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
Can somebody help me please?

Help installing PlexPy
Hi,
I've been asking around for help with installing PlexPy. I tried to use docker, but I could not get the settings to save properly on a reboot of NAS. I tried to install via PlexPys Linux instructions but on a reboot I can no longer find the /opt/PlexPy directory.
Would like some step by step help.

Movies Library not Updating
I have Plex Media Server running on my Synology and have done for YEARS! I LOVE it!
All of a sudden, of recent months, the movie library will not update when I put new movies in there - TV shows update fine, Photos update fine, infact all my other libraries update fine - so when i copy in new content into the the folder, I can load the Plex web gui and choose 'update library' and my new content will appear.
But Movies will not update. Please can someone help me!! I am happy to provide logs etc if someone tells me where they are!!

Known Incompatibility?
I have a DS212j, which I upgraded today to DSM 6.1-15047 Update 2.
In the Package Center, my Plex Media Server is showing as stopped, on the grounds that it is incompatible with the current DSM version.
It gives me a single option. to uninstall - I have not done so yet.
In the list of available packages, Plex does not show.
I though I could try a "Manual Install" to get the latest version, and so downloaded both Intel and ARM packages from this site, earlier today. My Diskstation says that both packages are incompatible with the DSM version.
Is this a known issue?

Samsung Plex app on separate network cannot connect to PMS
Hi everyone,
Been banging my head on this issue for days and I am unable to resolve it - hoping you can help!
I have my Synology PMS server connected to gateway router at 192.168.1.x.
My Samsung TV with Plex app is connected to a separate router at 192.168.2.x running through a VPN provider.
On the TV app I sign in successfully but then Plex TV app cannot access PMS to add my server and grant me access to libraries in the TV app.
I have assigned a custom domain URL through no-ip.com in the PMS settings which is accessible from the outside world. But this doesn't allow the PMS to be added.
Any idea how Plex app or plex.tv looks for and adds PMS to an account? What am I doing wrong here?
Any tips are really appreciated

Problem with photos&videos in photos library
hi,
on my DS214play, latest PMS and DSM, pictures and videos taken upright with my iphone are are shown turned left to right (lying). They are show correct in the preview put wrong when playing. This happens on latest Plex Web, PMP and Plex for Tizen Samsung. On Apple Tv 4 they are shown right.

plex for Synology DSM6.1
Dear sirs
I have had a Synology DS413 with Plex installed, working perfectly but now Server was upgraded with latest DSM 6.1
and now it can not be restarted as system prompt that Plex is no longer compatible
have tried un install and re install but it is not compatible wit the new DSM
Had a chatt today with synology and they confirmed that it is not going to work and that I have to hope and waith for Plex publishing a new verrsion

New DS1515+ Synology User with Set-Up Issues

I just bought a new DS1515+ and using the very helpful guides in this forum, tried to set it use for Plex use.
However, despite everything, I cannot get my find my Plex Server on my Synology NAS - all I see is the dreaded "Looking for servers..." message. I have already tried implemented the suggestions from the "FAQ's - Read this first" and following posts without any luck:

Cant find Synology Server
I am at my wits end. I cannot get my server to show up, even though I can use plex. This all happened when I added Orbi network to my existing Netgear AC1900 router/modem. Whenever I try to dig into my Synology, it says there is a DNS conflict... but I don't know how to solve it! Can someone help me fix this?

Plexsign.key
I have reinstalled the Synology DSM 6.1 and I'm now trying to download the Plexsign Key to enable the Plex media server , however the downloaded file is Plexsign.Key 
I have followed the forum article https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/205165858-How-to-add-Plex-s-package-signing-public-key-to-Synology-NAS-Package-Center . I've changed browsers etc but nothing seems to work

Upgrade to Version 1.5.3.3580
Today i upgraded my synology ds214play to version 1.5.3.3580.
After the upgrade my dashboard was empty. No libraries at all. "The dashboard is empty"
Is it an known issue, or did i do something/something wrong?
