Just bought the DS118 and looking for an installer package. Though in previous forum topics, CPUs like the RTD1293 are in progress when it comes to development of installer packages (e.g. @chukpa's reply on different topic).
So, does the same applies to the RTD1296?

I'm running Plex on a Synology DS415+, and since the last update (Version 1.9.4.4325), all my movies freeze whatever resolution or bitrate I use.
I know there can be some issues with 1080p, but even when I choose original quality, or watch low bitrates movies (like DVD, mp4 or mkv content), it's always the same...
If someone can help me !?

I just purchased a Synology DS918+ and out of the box I installed DSM 6.1.3-15152 Update 8 and Plex Media Server 1.9.4.4325-1bf240a65. Prior to the installation my Plex account was previously associated with a Drobo and the device was removed from my Plex settings. When I launch the PMS URL I am presented with "Looking for servers..." and it doesn't find the Synology device.
Troubleshooting:
* Network is compliant 192.168.5.0/24.
* Installed the latest .SPK package from Plex.
* Set MTU value manually is disabled.
* Stopped Plex.
* Uninstalled Plex on my Synology Nas.
* Deleted the Plex user.
* Deleted the Plex folder.
* Reinstalled Plex.
* Started Plex with the same result.
* Stopped Plex.
* Deleted plexmediaserver.pid and Preferences.xml.
* Set the correct permissions for the Plex folder and Media folder.
* Disabled Chrome plugins.
* Started Plex with the same result.
In the log files I can see mention of "Error cleaning old transcode sessions", "Unable to open named mutex", and "Network Service: Error in advertiser handle read:".

Today I heard that lyrics can be shown without a Plex Pass Subscription by adding local lyrics files. As somebody who likes having the lyrics scrolled while hearing the song I set up my local lyrics for an album to test it. In the past I used foobar2000 as a local player with the MiniLyrics Add-On and wanted the lyrics back as I did not find a solution to export a playlist from Plex to my PC and simply use foobar2000 (any suggestions?).
But to the main problem: As I had copied my lrc-files into the folder where my tracks are (path-structure: library/artist/artist - album/artist - album - tracknumber - tracktitle.extension), renamed them to fit the structure and refreshed my music library, navigated to the album in the library and chose a track. With the track playing in the Plex Web App I clicked on "Lyrics" in the navigation bar for the music player but only, as before, the overlay for the Plex Pass was shown.
So I checked the Agents: they are fine. A look into the logs showed that the lrc are recognized.
So, why are the lyrics not shown? Did I make a mistake somewhere?
Help with preferably a solution would be very appreciated,

Hi, I was wondering why I cannot play a 4K HDR demo file (LG Chess) that lives on my DS916+ NAS through the plex app on my LG OLED55C6T tv? When I access the file using the TV's device connector it plays perfectly but not if I use the plex app. This tells me the tv can play the file but the plex server app on the 916+ is possibly doing something so I get "There was an unknown problem playing this item" (an unexpected error occured downloading the media) message.
Is this a synology issue or perhaps a plex server issue? I had heard something about setting profiles for devices so the server just sends the file unaltered to certain devices? Any ideas?

Plex on my iPhone8 has started to behave strange. Not sure if it's something wrong with Plex (using the latest PlexPass version at the time I write this), or something with my DS718+ NAS running DSM6.2beta.

I'm pretty new to Plex and Synology, too, so I'd like to apologize, if I overlooked something. I've installed Plex Media Server 1.9.4.4325-bf24240a65 on my Synology DS418play running DSM 6.1.4-15217, but when I try to open Main Menu / Plex Media Server I get the error: "Safari can't connect to the server. Safari can't open the page "diskstation:32400/web" because Safari can't connect to the server "diskstation"".
Package Center shows Plex Media Server as running. The certificate is installed, Plex firewall is disabled and Set MTU value manually is disabled as well.
Do you have any ideas?

I have an old Playstation PlayTV USB TV tuner that works fine with Synology Video station but I would rather it worked with Plex.
I can see from the logs that its detected but its 'ignored' because its an unsupported tuner device. If it works with Video Station, surely it should be pretty trivial to get working with Plex?
Any pointers on where to start?

Looking for some help a config I'm planning.
Current setup
1815+ with 4x 6TB Drives RAID 10 and no backup. 10TB useable space
Win10 PC with 256GB SSD which runs Plex and some miscellaneous programs and not backed up.
I know crazy to have no backup.
I have 1x 6TB lying around and 2x 4TB. Plan is get 2 more 6TB and 1x 1TB SSD
1815+ 7x 6TB drives RAID 6 (30TB useable) and 1x 4TB drive.
Win10 PC 1x 256GB SSD, 1x 1TB SSD and 1x 4TB
This would work as follows
Win10 Server
256GB - OS and programs
1TB - Photos, Music, VMs
4TB - Important Stuff
1815+
30TB Media
4TB - Backup of important stuff
The reason for the 1TB SSD is speed. If I'm browsing through photos on Plex (within home network) there seems to be a slight hesitation. I have Netgear Smart Managed Switch all CAT6 cabling and LACP on NAS. Client is ATV4 wired.
I'm not sure how I'm going to setup the backups but the more I think about it I might ditch the 4TB in the NAS and create 8x 6TB RAID 6 and backup all the server drives into the RAID volume.
Also any advice on how to backup but retain versions incase I delete something would be helpful. Also need to pick a spot for downloads.
And lastly EXT4 or BTRFS??
Videos with subtitles that were showing up yesterday aren't showing up anymore.
Sometimes, the subtitles would be visible in some short episodes and gone again.

Hi all, i'm new to plex, i've been using Video Station but fed up with constant non playbacks of MKV files. I have a file on my 916 plus that has movies, video station pulls from that...how does Video station pull from that and will it pull the files automatically everytime i upload to my movie folders ?
Hi, I have DSM 6.1.3-15152 Update 7 but dont have a PMS 1.3.3- 3148 or 1.4.2-3400, I only have backup of PlexMediaServer-1.3.0.3059-6277334-x86.spk or PlexMediaServer-1.5.5.3634-995f1dead-x86.spk, but with this version doesn't run. Where can I download the versions I need? I have a plexpass but don't see where download it.

I dont wanna keep my main pc ON 24hs so I was thinking if one of those mini pc boxes that use less power ££ would be able to transcode so I can stream to my tablet when not at home.

Synology just released as new NAS, the DS3617xs. I want to let people know that if they were considering the DS3617xs over the DS3615xs that technically speaking there is only one difference in regards to Plex usage and that is the CPU. I own both units and have completely dismantled them for hardware comparison. Everything inside and out are identical with the exception of the CPU and cooler. Of course the motherboard is updated to handle the FCBGA1667 socket, but other than that they are the same. Yes the DS3617xs can run with 48Gb instead of 32Gb of the DS3615xs, but Plex does not need much memory to do any of its work. I think I max'd out at around 2Gb with a full load from Plex. I have 4Gb installed.
The DS3615xs uses a i3-4130 Haswell CPU and the DS3617xs uses a Xeon® Processor D-1527. Now several months ago I decided to upgrade my DS3615xs with a faster CPU. I found the best CPU to be a Xeon E3-1246L v3 Haswell. I could have shelled out another $400 and got the Xeon E3-1286L v3, but he spec were not that much higher and did not warrant the extra cash.

You will need to upgrade the CPU cooler as well. I used the Noctua NH-D9L. Key here is the socket support (FCLGA1150). Now I could have gone with a i7-4765T, but it lack the higher CPU clock speed, 3Ghz vs 3.9Ghz in turbo mode. Base frequency is about 1.5Ghz in difference. Even the DS3617xs' CPU has a slower base frequency of the DS3615xs by 1.2Ghz
There is about $1,000 difference with both units current availability and you can pickup the Xeon E3-1246L v3 for about $370 on Amazon and the Noctua NH-D9L for $55. Unit runs around 40C at full load with this setup.

Until the last dsm 6.1.3 update i'm not able to find the plex package and i cannot use my plex pass in the best way with my nas.
What is the problem?
