Recently updated my DS214play to dsm 6. And was tonight trying to update Plex Media server, but it seems to get stuck in processing, and doesn't finish the install. Only one error message appeared once, which said operation had failed, and i should log in again. Any ideas about this?

Transcoder keeps running for random reasons
For the last build or two of PMS, I have been having a pretty weird issue. The process Plex New Transcoder keeps popping up and using 75-90% of my CPU, even though I am not watching anything nor am I using the optimize feature. I checked the status page on the web app, and it doesn't show anything being watched, converted, or synced, so I'm quite confused as to what Plex is trying to transcode. It kinda defeats the purpose of a low power NAS if the CPU is running at 100% all the time.
Any help would be great. I PMd a link to all my logs to trumpy as per the FAQ.

Cannot install Plex
Hi,
I restored my DS215j to factory settings, I like starting from scratch, and updated to DSM 6.0-7321.
I installed Sonarr and SANzb without much trouble, but i cannot for the life of me get Plex installed.
I have imported the certificate and downloaded every possible version from the plex.tv/downloads for the Synology NAS (Intel,ARM,ARMV7,Alpine and Powerpc)
When I try to install manually I select the spk file and then the processing window runs and i get the error "This package is not supported on the platform of DiskStation"
I have tried using both Chrome and IE to install but both gives the same error.
I followed the instructions of Q7 and Q3 of the FAQ but cannot get it installed.
Any help will be appreciated.

PMS Shutting Down - Unprovoked
I have noticed for the last week my PMS (0.9.16.3.1840-cece46d) keeps shutting down over night. I haven't noticed it happening during the day and it hasn't happened while I was using it.
I have the server running on my Synology 1515+ (DS 6.0-7321) which stays up and running 24/7. I have recently upgraded from DS 5.2 but I'm pretty sure it started happening right before I upgraded to 6.0 on Friday so I am thinking it wasn't the DS upgrade that caused the issue.
I just log into my DS and go to the package center, I click on "action" and hit run, then it stays on, at least for a while. Last night I shut down my laptop (not the NAS) like I do every night, I put on my headphones to listen to some music before falling asleep and the server was not running, it was running right before I turned my laptop off (has never had any association with my laptop, that is not the issue as far as I could tell). I logged into my DS from my iPad2 (oldie but a goodie, running iOS 9.2) and started my PMS running again. I logged out of my DS and listened to my music until I decided to call it quits for the night. In the morning, my PMS was off again, I turned it on once again and it is still running now, over six hours later. I predict it will continue to run until later on tonight.
I do watch downloaded tv shows in the evening and even use some of the third party channels since I am a cord cutter and have Roku's on every TV in the house. I have only experienced this issue for the last week, I am not getting signed out of anything, it just stops running. Not sure if it is crashing or just shutting down.

Cannot install Plex after DSM 6.0 upgrade
I have a DS216play, and just upgraded my NAS to DSM 6.0. I was running Plex on DSM 5.2 just fine, but now that I've upgraded to 6.0, Plex wouldn't work. I uninstalled Plex from the Package Center (I'm now thinking that uninstalling Plex was a mistake), downloaded the most current PMS (Version 0.9.16.3.1840-cece46d) for ARMv7, and tried running a Manual Install. I get the message "This package is not supported on the platform of Diskstation."

Error when activating embedded subtitules
Hi,
As soon as I activate subtitles (embedded in the movie file), there is an error and I can't even play again the file. I'm able to play the file again (without subtitles) once it had been deleted and then added back.
My config : Synology NAS DS215j with Plex media server and I use a Xbox one to read the files
I've been facing this issue for weeks and can't find a solution.

Bug: Plex Server does not start during start up of NAS (DS214play)

my Plex server does not start automatically during the start up of the NAS.
When I start the server manually it runs fine.

Plex and DSM 6
Hi.
I uninstall my plex before upgrade to DSM 6 (big error here ) and now I cannot install it.
I've got the last version before the update of DSM.
I made the Q7 and Q3 in the FAQ, don't change anything. I have the "this paquet is not supported by Diskstation" error message and was unable to install Plex.

DSM 5.2 - Looking for server

When I log-in directly onto the LAN IP of the Plex server, all it shows is "Looking for servers".
I updated it to the latest version, and followed all the information in this: https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/204604227
Still does not show up. Any ideas?

Plex and DSM 6.0
I just upgraded to DSM 6.0. I uninstalled plex before the upgrade and cleaned up the plex user and shared directory. Then did the manual install after the dsm upgrade. It installed fine and says it's running but when I try to access the Plex app on the Nas I get page not found error. So I'm unable to configure Plex on my Nas now.

Library scanner not detecting any files
Ok, I am having a problem getting plex to recognize a networked drive. I have a Synology NAS that is storing the files and will be offloading the transcoding to my Win 7 PC where the PMS will be installed. I have the mapped network drive on windows setup as Y: drive and I can access the files through explorer. When I go into Plex and setup a new library, it lets me choose the Y: drive as the media folder. However, it does not detect the movies I have within the folder. I suspect it is some form of a permission issue, but do not know how to track it down. Any help is greatly appreciated.

hi, i've tried to install plex media server on my dam 6.0 but my backup of plex library won't work on my updated server. what happened? there isn't a log file updated as suggested by the interface and i don't know what to do because i cannot access to my library anymore. :( please help me!!!

I get the message that 0.9.15.2.1663-7efd04 is not compatible with my device please update to 0.9.15.2.1664 or above. But I can't find this version anywhere. Any ideas - Thanks

Plex Media Server - Can't Connect to Server
This morning I updated to DSM 6.0-7321. In order to update I had to stop the Plex server. Upon completion of the update, I tried starting Plex again and it said an update needed to be installed. So I manually installed the update by downloading the most recent version of Plex from their website. It installed fine and is up and running but when navigating to the url, it says "Safari can't connect to the server" and when logging in to Plex.tv with my account, it says no servers found.

Unable to install PLEX on DS1515+ with DSM 6.0
After a quick search, I couldn't find any posts on this particular model (DS1515+)
I am unable to install PLEX on my DS1515+ after updating to DSM 6.0. I have followed the directions outlined by Synology and have added them as a trusted publisher.
After looking up specs for my CPU, I understand that my DS1515+ model should use the Alpine-ARMV7 software package shown in the download page.
Unfortunately, I only get the "This package is not supported on the platform of diskstation." message.
To troubleshoot, I have already re-imported the key and have tried all software packages. I could use some advice. Thanks.

FLAC Playback issue after Synology Version 0.9.16.3.1840-cece46d PLEX Update
Hi All,
so today I updated my Plex Media server on the Synology to Version 0.9.16.3.1840-cece46d and now I can't play any of my FLAC HD/Hi-Res audio. Is there a fix for this ?
One of the audio files I'm trying to play has the following info:
Codec FLAC
Channels Stereo
Bitrate 2679 kbps
Audio Channel Layout stereo
Bit Depth 24
Bitrate Mode VBR
Duration 3:40
Sampling Rate 88200 Hz
Any help or information would be much appreciated.

Plex drops remote access
Hi there,
When I restart Plex (latest version) on my Synology (DSM 6), then login via webinterface I can see that the remote access is working properly. Ports are open, no Firewall hindering.
Then after a few moments (1-2 minutes) Plex drops the remote access and it can not be established anymore. Only a restart of the Plex server establishes the remote access again, only to drop it again.
Anyone with a similar issue? Any solutions?
